Two Austin teens will represent Arthouse at the Jones Center and be among some of the best and brightest young artists in the country this August when they head to Boston for the National Convening for Teens in the Arts, an annual conference organized and hosted by the Institute of Contemporary Art.
Hector Romero and Ashley Love were two of only eighteen teens selected from a national pool to attend the conference, which will bring together arts leaders and educators to discuss various topics including how to effectively engage teens with art, artists and each other.
Arthouse’s Education Coordinator Erin Gentry will accompany the teens on this journey to not only learn but also share some of the programs Arthouse has created to encourage and celebrate the artistic talents of area youth. In fact, if you head to the museum on Saturday, you'll be among the first to see Arthouse's Advanced Young Artists Exhibition—the culminating exhibition of its teen education program.
