25-year Austin holiday market Blue Genie Art Bazaar sets dates for 2025

This shopping tradition has made it this long for a reason.
Austin has a wealth of regular markets offering local shopping options, but the Blue Genie Art Bazaar (BGAB) is the blueprint for efficient holiday shopping. This year, BGAB celebrates its 25th anniversary with a market from November 14 to December 24.
A press release traces the tradition back to a 2001 Christmas party at Blue Genie Art Industries in 2001. Now, it's an annual staple for holiday shoppers, who can find art, accessories, home goods, gourmet snacks, and fun or inventive odds and ends that are specific enough to be interesting, but broad enough to make an easy stocking-stuffer.
“We started this for fun and it's still fun after 25 years!” said BGAB co-founder Kevin Collins in the release.
The 2025 market will feature more than 200 local artists and thousands of their handmade works. From the BGAB website, some of those vendors include whimsical embroidered shirt seller Triple Z Threadz, local landmark illustrator Jim Koehn, vintage-inspired jewelry designer Ornamental Things, sculptural beeswax candle maker Buzz In The Hills, and glassblower Ghost Pepper Glass.
Folks at home can check out the selection at bluegenieartbazaar.shop.
For those too busy to shop, there's a concierge service. Would-be shoppers will fill out a form describing who they want a gift for, what their budget is, and when they need it done. Then "The Genies" will give them a shortlist with photos, and the buyer can make final selections for in-store pickup, nationwide shipping, and optional free gift wrapping.
One perk of shopping in person, though, is a new Donut Tuesdays series, which is exactly what it sounds like. The sweet treats will be handed out for free at the snack bar starting at 10 am until they run out.
The Bazaar is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm. It will close early, at 6 pm, on Christmas Eve. Admission and parking are free, and the wheelchair-accessible venue is accessible by the CapMetro bus and MetroRail. Shoppers will have an option to round up at the register to gather donations for Make-A-Wish (MAW) of Central & South Texas.
