First stop on President Barack Obama's Middle Class Jobs and Opportunity tours: Austin, Texas.

Since late last week, rumors swirled regarding where President Obama would visit if he did indeed land in Texas' capital city during the first of many national trips focused on economic growth. The first confirmed date and location? Thursday, May 9 at Manor New Tech High School, a school that focuses on the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and is built on the New Technology Network model of project-based learning.

The White House press office described Manor New Tech as an educational institution "where students are learning the real-world skills they need to fill the jobs that are available right now."

“In his State of the Union, the president laid out his belief that the middle class is the engine of economic growth. To reignite that engine, there are three areas we need to invest in: 1) jobs, 2) skills 3) opportunity,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said, according to ABC News.

Reuters reports that Obama will also "visit a technology company, and will talk with entrepreneurs and workers about proposals he made earlier this year to boost jobs and training." Details of where and when have yet to emerge.

This visit marks the Obamas' return to the Lone Star State less than a month; President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama traveled to Waco for a service memorializing those lost in the West fertilizer plant explosion, as well as to Dallas for the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.
