Opt for Optimism
Flexible folks find their happy center at mindful Austin yoga event
It's hard not to be in a great state of mind when you're doing yoga, but CultureMap and Frost Bank are happy to help out, too.
We popped by Wanderlust's Summer Sunset Series at Republic Square Park recently in the Opt For Optimism van, ready to hand out swag, flower bouquets, wildflower seed bombs, and plenty of smiles.
Though cloudy skies threatened rain, the sprinkles held off until the massive group yoga class — we're talking more than 400 people — murmured its final "namaste." The theme of "do good and opt for optimism" was even incorporated into the class, putting everyone in the right mood to visit the Call Me Optimistic chalkboards and write down what they're thankful for.
Answers ranged from "my health" to "my honey," and everyone was eager to reflect on what helps them be optimistic.
"Optimism is, for me, a way of looking at the world and knowing that every day something great's going to happen," shared one participant, while another spoke of how she's optimistic for her children to change the world for good.
CultureMap and Frost Bank will be hosting more of these pop-up events throughout the year, surprising and delighting folks all over Texas. Want to know where we might show up next? Sign up for our emails and follow along on Facebook and Instagram for hints about our next stop.
