Raise Your Family Here
These Austin suburbs rank among America's best places for families
If you and your family reside in West Lake Hills or Rollingwood, congratulations. You're in two of the best places in the U.S. to raise a family.
Niche, a website that aggregates reviews about neighborhoods and schools, has awarded these two sought-after Austin areas some of the highest marks in the nation. West Lake Hills is the 13th best place in the America to raise your kids. It earns a stellar A-plus for public schools (thanks to high performing Eanes ISD) and family amenities, though the cost of living is a scary C-minus. Its real estate and diversity grades are not bad, at B-minus each.
Next-door neighbor Rollingwood ranks No. 24 in the U.S. Of course it gets the same A-plus marks for schools and family amenities, but Rollingwood also earns an A in crime and safety to go with it (that ranking wasn't available for West Lake Hills). Its real estate grade is a solid B, but diversity is lower, at a C-plus. Cost of living, no surprise here, is a C-minus.
Niche also drilled down to the top places in Texas to raise a family. West Lake Hills and Rollingwood take the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the list, which is heavy with Dallas suburbs. Murphy, Allen, and Frisco, all near Dallas, finish out the top five, with excellent public school grades and very good family amenities. Aledo, Coppell, Fulshear, Cinco Ranch, and University Park round out the top 10.
