APA!'s Huckleberry the German Shepherd wants to be your huckleberry friend
Aug 8, 2013 | 11:42 am
This week, Austin Pets Alive! would like you to meet Huckleberry, an outgoing and friendly dog ready for his new family. Although his name suggests he would be the perfect river rafting companion, he'd probably prefer to strike out on any of the local hike and bike trails around town.
Name: Huckleberry
Sex: Male
Breed: German Shepherd mix
Adult size: Large
Age: 4 years, 3 months
Sign: Taurus
Spayed/neutered: Yes
Adoption donation: $75
Location: Onsite
Surprise fact: Huckleberry takes part in the RuffTail Runners program, which gets shelter dogs out into the open air on long walks on hike and bike trails.
What APA! says about Huckleberry:
- He first came to APA! as an owner surrender due to a few anxiety problems and excessive barking. Luckily, Huckleberry has been very responsive to corrective behavior and just needs an owner who will be consistent in continuing to train him.
- Huckleberry loves to play fetch with tennis balls and has a very playful attitude in general.
Why APA! says he deserves your love:
- If Huckleberry is moving into a house with another dog, a meet and greet would be required to guarantee that they will get along.
- Huckleberry is in a play group with other dogs at APA!, and his previous family noted he is house trained and gets along well with cats. He's likely to be a very good friend all around.
