You voted, we tallied: The top 6 ways to spend the holidays in Austin
The Trail of Lights opened Sunday at dusk to an eager crowd waiting to walk the 1.5 mile stretch beneath an estimated 1 million twinkling bulbs.
Not surprisingly, a large majority of you — a whopping 46% — voted the Christmas spectacular your favorite Austin holiday tradition.
The rest of the activities broke down as followed:
- The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar with 20%
- Decorating trees along Loop 360 at 14%
- Ballet Austin's The Nutcracker received 7%
- The John Aielli Holiday Sing Along and Whole Foods Ice Rink tied with 5% each
The great news is there is still plenty of time to partake in several of these activities.
The Trail of Lights is open through December 23 from 6:30 - 10 p.m. each night, while the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar runs until December 24, times varying.
Eight performances of The Nutcracker remain, and Whole Foods' ice rink is open from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., with limited hours on Christmas Eve.
As for the 360 trees and John Aielli Sing Along, you'll have to wait until next year. Now get to celebrating before the rest of the chances have passed!
