SXSW Music wristbands for Austin residents on sale this week
Get ready Austinites: SXSW Music wristbands are available for residents beginning on Thursday, January 22 at 10 am. Wristbands cost $169 and can be purchased online through the SXSW website. This special deal, which includes access to most of the festival's music showcases, is only made available to local residents.
In order to buy a wristband, the credit card billing information must contain an Austin ZIP code. If you're unsure where your ZIP code lies, you can double check ahead of time here.
Wristband purchases will be limited to two per order: one for yourself (name must match credit card) and one for a lucky friend or family member whose name must also be provided at time of purchase. SXSW says it transitioned to this purchasing method for wristbands in order to cut down on ticket scalping and ensure as many Austinites as possible can snag one before supplies run out.
SXSW Music has already announced almost 1,000 acts for this year's festival. In addition to stellar local showcases, expect performances from The Zombies, Sean Paul, AWOLNATION, Gang of Four, Twin Peaks, Best Coast, Bleachers, Diarrhea Planet and many, many more.
SXSW Music runs March 17-22. To see the entire lineup so far, visit the SXSW website.
