Love it or hate it, "Baby Shark" is going from the screen to the stage this fall. Baby Shark Live! is a live-action show that brings the YouTube video, which has racked up more than 3 billion views, to life with dancing, music, and more under-the-sea fun.
For those of you that don't know, "Baby Shark" is the catchiest song that has ever existed in the world. (While this may seem like hyperbole, tell us another tune that noodles its way into your head and gets stuck there, playing on a loop, seemingly forever.)
The lyrics are simple: "Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo." And the dance consists of making chomping motions with your hands. If it sounds ridiculous, that's because it is ridiculous, but we are a culture that embraces toe shoes, so is anyone really surprised?
Baby Shark Live! kicks off its 30-city tour this fall, and is making a stop at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on October 10. Billed as a "fully immersive concert experience" with an educational twist, the show follows Baby Shark and his friend Pinkfong as they "take an adventure into the sea, singing and dancing through new and classic songs," according to a release.
“We’re thrilled to bring Baby Shark Live! to families across the country,” says Stephen Shaw, co-president of Round Room Live and tour producer. “There’s something incredibly special about Baby Shark and it’s exciting to create a show that not only includes singing and dancing but an education component as well.”
Tickets for Baby Shark Live! at the H-E-B Center are priced between $29.50-$55.50. Pre-sale is currently underway, and general admission tickets go on sale July 12 at 10 am via Ticketmaster.
