Stevie Ray Vaughan on ballot for induction into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame public vote is open ... and Stevie Ray Vaughan is on the list.
Despite being synonymous with southern blues rock, this Austin legend has never before been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Hall will only induct artists 25 years after their first album came out. (This year's nominees all released records before 1989, shocking when you consider Nine Inch Nails and Green Day are both on the list.) That being said, Vaughan has been eligible for the prestigious honor for six years now. So if you're an Stevie Ray fan, this is the time to get out the vote.
Though we won't know if Vaughan will be inducted until December, he's currently in the top three — so the chances are looking good. If he does get in, Vaughan and the rest of the 2015 inductees will be honored at a ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio on April 18.
The other 2015 nominees up for vote include Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Nine Inch Nails, Sting, N.W.A., Lou Reed, The Smiths, Green Day, Bill Withers, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Kraftwerk, The Marvelettes, The Spinners and War.
