Music fans, listen up. On Wednesday, SXSW Music released a new round of artists for the upcoming 2017 festival.
More than 150 bands have been added to the lineup. Trending talent like Minus the Bear, The Drums, Future Thieves, Girlpool, and Aquilo join already announced names like Diet Cig, King Cayman, San Fermin, and Cory Branan.
Representing Austin are Band of Heathens, Moving Panoramas, Blue Healer, and Letting Up Despite Great Faults, to name a few. My Education, Tameca Jones, Elizabeth McQueen, Hard Proof, and S U R V I V E (the duo that gained national attention for its work on Netflix's Stranger Things) are among the local bands announced in September.
SXSW is divided into three main categories — Music, Film, and Interactive — but badge access will expand in 2017. A Film badge, for example, will provide primary access to all Film programming, as well as secondary access to select Interactive and Music events.
SXSW 2017 takes place March 10-19 around Austin. Badges are on sale now for discounted rates. Get a Music, Film, or Interactive badge for $925 and Platinum access for $1,250 through October 21.
