Recently canceled festival returns with weekend of live music for Austin
Sound on Sound Fest may have been canceled, but November 10-12 will still be a big weekend for local live music fans. A packed schedule of acts originally scheduled to perform at the destination festival will be bringing down the house at local clubs — some with early or matinee set times so music fans can pop into multiple shows. Think of it as Sound on Sound à la carte.
The rescheduled acts represent an array of the initial Sound on Sound lineup, including indie rockers Grizzly Bear, American death metal lords Cannibal Corpse, space disco pioneer Lindstrøm, and hip-hop breakout Noname. Tickets went on sale early October 16 for SOS Fest ticket holders via a private email sale, but the general public will have to wait until 8 am Wednesday, October 18, to buy tickets. Margin Walker Presents, the agency behind SOS, is still trying to reschedule every artist booked for the festival, but some will not be able to make it back to Austin until later in the year or early 2018.
The full schedule for the rebooked bands is below. Tickets and set times can be found at the Sound on Sound website or at the venues. In addition to the Austin shows, industrial metal legends Ministry will be coming to San Antonio’s Aztec Theatre Sunday, November 12. Tickets for that show are available now.
