Fun Fun Fun Fest snags big-name replacement after headliner cancels last-minute
Fun Fun Fun Fest announced Wednesday that D'Angelo and the Vanguard have canceled their upcoming festival performance due to an illness. Festival organizers revealed in the same announcement that the legendary Lauryn Hill will take their place as the orange stage headliner on Sunday, November 8.
Hill rose to fame as a member of the Fugees in the 1990s, but went on to solidify her place among the R&B greats as an eight-time Grammy Award winner during her subsequent solo career. Her show at FFF Fest will be her only Texas appearance for 2015.
Hill will fit in perfectly with the rest of the festival lineup, which remains untouched: Fellow headliners Wu-Tang Clan, Jane's Addiction, Venom, Coheed and Cambria, Gogol Bordello, and Chvrches are still on the bill.
Fun Fun Fun recently released the day-by-day schedule for its 10th anniversary run, happening November 6 through 8. In addition to festival shenanigans at Auditorium Shores, there will be a slew of FFF Nites shows peppered throughout the Red River Cultural District, downtown Austin, and the east side.
Single-day, three-day, and upgraded VIP passes are still on sale. For those who have already snagged tickets, you can pick yours up at the new Funderdome to avoid any potential line snafus like the one from last year.
