KGSR releases 20th Broadcasts compilation featuring unreleased tracks from thearchives

Established in 1990, KGSR has become known for its adult-alternative taste and has successfully positioned itself as a legitimate purveyor of Austin music. Every November for two decades now, the station has released compilations of the top broadcasts of the year.

This year, for the station's landmark 20th anniversary, Andy Langer, Chris Edge and Bill Johnson produced two discs featuring 19 new live recordings and 20 unreleased tracks from the KGSR archives for Broadcasts Vol. 20.

Proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to benefit the SIMS Foundation, a mental health organization servicing Austin-area musicians and their families. KGSR reports that the yearly KGSR Broadcasts compilations have raised approximately $2,357,939.03 for the SIMS Foundation since 1998.

The CD will go on sale Friday, November 23 — a great opportunity to retroactively "give thanks" to the Austin-based musicians who inspire your every day. Artists include Death Cab for Cutie, Spoon, Lyle Lovett, Fitz & the Tantrums and many more. Check out the album tracklists in the photo gallery.
