Chillerama Funorama
‘Tis the season to be gory with A Very Green & Lynch Christmas, screeningtonight
The season of sugarplums and chestnuts is upon us, and what better way to get into the mood than an evening filled with horror, swag and charity.
Tonight, cult horror directors Adam Green and Joe Lynch will be hosting A Very Green & Lynch Christmas at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz, which features a screening of their horror anthology movie, Chillerama. Four short films comprise the movie, with each segment providing a loving, comedic tribute to the schlockiest of schlocky, drive-in B-movies.
Along with their collaboration, the two directors will screen edited, never-before-seen trailers, a special sneak-peek from Lynch’s forthcoming LARP-inspired movie Knights of Badassdom, and a 90-minute slasher flick that Lynch claims rivals even the mighty Troll 2 (Oh my Goooooooood!).
If you think all of the guts and gore would be enough for one night, keep in mind that Green and Lynch will be lugging along boxes of goodies and prizes that will be given away to lucky fans during the entire evening. The collection of free loot will include DVDs, Blu-rays and T-shirts. Silent auctions will also be held for some of the bigger giveaways.
One night filled with such craziness has to be happening for a reason, right? Well besides celebrating our love for horror schlock, the night does play into the season’s spirit of giving. Proceeds from the night will go towards helping the American Legion Hall construct an elevator for our war veterans.
If you’re looking to kick off the most wonderful time of the year, might as well do it with goodwill and buckets of blood.
