Semi-charmed Kind of Night
'90s hitmakers Third Eye Blind headline Austin's New Year's Eve bash
A new year is just around the corner, and the City of Austin and Visit Austin are already preparing for the fun night of New Year's Eve. Third Eye Blind will headline their night of festivities on December 31st at Auditorium Shores. The event is free and family-friendly.
The California group is known for lasting, but now nostalgic hits like "Semi-Charmed Life" and "Jumper." These classic tracks made No. 4 and 5 respectively on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and stayed on it for 43 and 20 weeks.
The “Austin’s New Year” event will run from 7 pm until midnight. There will be food, drinks and, of course, a fireworks show at midnight to wave goodbye to 2024 and say hello to 2025.
Vendors will be announced in December and will include local food, non-alcoholic, and alcoholic drinks.
Paid parking will be available at the One Texas Center, the Palmer Event Center, RiverSouth Garage, City Hall Garage, or State Garage N.
CapMetro Rail service will operate late on December 31, running until after 2 am. The last train will leave Downtown Station at 2:22 am. Meanwhile, bus routes will operate regular service and Night Owls will run from 10:30 pm to 2:30 am.
Road closures in and around the event will be in place on the day. Lady Bird Lake will also be closed from 10:30 pm until 1 am for safety purposes.
