Handbag Queen Expands
Elaine Turner roars into San Antonio: New store in ritzy enclave opens withplenty of buzz
Houston handbag and heel maven Elaine Turner has long looked to expand westward. And as of today, she has landed: Deep in the heart of Alamo Heights, an unincorporated enclave in San Antonio known for its wealthy citizens.
Tucked among a row of shops, just a stone's throw from Cappyccino's and Penny Lane, Turner's new, just-opened 1,800 square foot space is all modern glamour and Texas grit, with pink brocade wallpaper behind cowhide furniture, wooden planks below and sparkling chandeliers above.
Plus, of course, it's full to the brim of stylish bags and shoes from her eponymous line.

Shoppers can also find clothing, jewelry, leather goods, candles and gifts in the Broadway Street boutique — or maybe happen upon a cocktail party or charity fundraiser.
This is Turner's first store outside of the Houston area and she's all in on the new city. The designer has curated a San Antonio city guide for out-of-town visitors and local explorers with recommendations on where to eat, sip, play, stay and shop. Looks like Rice Village has a run for its money.
There's certainly some buzz there. On the first day of the San Antonio store, Elaine Turner Designs' Facebook page jumped toward 4,000 Likes.
Elaine Turner's Alamo Heights store is located at 5922 Broadway, San Antonio. Hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
