Aloft flies high over Texas with new hotels, including two in Austin
As part of a statewide expansion, nine new Aloft Hotels — a brand owned and operated by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide — are planned across Texas.
Known for modern design, loft-like rooms and high-tech features, Aloft Hotels is expanding its presence from to 16 hotels in the Lone Star State. Two new hotels are planned for Austin.
The Aloft Austin Northwest, slated for 2016, will be located adjacent to Lakeline Mall. It will feature 131 rooms; 1,000 square feet of meeting space; and proximity to Dell Inc., Round Rock Sports Center and more.
In 2017, the 260-room Aloft Austin Downtown will join the Element Austin Downtown as part of a 32-story dual-branded Starwood development. Located at Seventh Street and Congress Avenue, the Aloft will be "walking distance to the live music venues, restaurants and shops in the city’s renowned Sixth Street Entertainment District."
The chain also plans three locations in the Houston area, three in Dallas-Fort Worth and one in College Station. Starwood expects to have the new Texas locations open by 2018. Aloft College Station, set to open September 10, will be the first of the new locations in Texas.
Aloft currently has 100 hotels in 15 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Australia and India.
