JW Marriott reveals 3 new restaurants opening downtown in February
The JW Marriott Austin has revealed the names and culinary teams behind three restaurants slated to open in the new hotel. The three very different concepts will be led by Executive Chef Juan Martinez, who was appointed in July 2014.
The first, Osteria Pronto, will be a full-service Italian restaurant "designed to offer a twist on classic Italian dishes with simple, distinctive flavors." Chef Gilberto Ramirez will preside over the menu with an emphasis on handmade cuisine and locally sourced ingredients. A seasoned hotel veteran, Ramirez began is career at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes Resort.
A departure from its Italian partner, Corner will serve up "Texas-inspired cuisine" and tequila cocktails, Texas wines and craft beers. Executive Chef Jennifer Etzkin, who also comes from a hotel dining background, will be taking the helm at Corner.
Perhaps the most unique addition to the JW Marriott is Burger Bar on Congress, a food truck-inspired, walk-up restaurant perched on Congress Avenue. Likely catering to the downtown work crowd, the restaurant will serve classic burger joint fare including burgers, hand-cut fries and shakes at lunchtime and in the early evening.
The hotel is currently slated to open ahead of schedule on February 13 and is in the midst of a hiring frenzy, including positions for its three restaurant concepts. For more information or to apply, go here.
