Sudden Shutter
Austin-based health food chain suddenly closes all locations
An Austin-based chain has called it quits. My Fit Foods, which specialized in nutritious meals on-the-go, has shuttered.
"Since 2006, My Fit Foods has been on a mission to make healthy eating easy and accessible for everyone. We've enjoyed getting to know you, and we are proud that we have made a difference in many of your lives," reads a statement posted to the company's website.
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of all our stores. We know that you have depended on us to support your healthy habits, and we are deeply sorry for any inconvenience our closure may have caused you."
The closure affects more than 40 locations across the U.S., including several outposts inside local H-E-B grocery stores. In addition to prepackaged food, My Fit Foods also offered meal planning assistance.
My Fit Foods launched in Houston in 2006. It relocated its headquarters to Austin in 2013. CultureMap's request for more details about the shutter has not been returned.
