golden standard
Drafthouse Beverage Director Bill Norris shows us how to whip up Oscar-themed cocktails
"If it's liquid — and it's not soup — and Tim League owns it, I'm in charge of it," Bill Norris says.
You know that any hired gun of the Alamo Drafthouse is going to have a clever air about him, and Norris does not disappoint as the cinema chain's beverage director.
The Austin Food & Wine Festival recently tapped into Norris' libatious knowledge at Midnight Cowboy, also owned by League, and asked him to craft a few Oscar-themed cocktails in advance of Sunday's awards.
As expected, he delivers with three alluring recipes to make at home; but what's particularly great about the video, aside from getting your hands on a few of Midnight Cowboy's recipes, is that Norris slows his roll in order to demonstrate a step-by-step process for viewers to follow.
Cue up the video Sunday night for a better way to spend your time during those boring technical categories...
