Burger Boulevard
The rumors are true: In-N-Out Burger to open second Austin location

It appears the rumors are true. Nearly a year after CultureMap first reported on the possibility of In-N-Out coming to South Lamar Boulevard, the California-based fast food restaurant announced it's opening a second Austin location.
In a statement to Community Impact, In-N-Out confirmed it is actively seeking permits to take over a former Wendy's location at 3701 S. Lamar Blvd. In-N-Out will join neighborhood burger joints like P.Terry's, Phil's Ice House and the soon-to-open Shake Shack, making South Lamar a true burger boulevard.
Though Carl Van Fleet, In-N-Out's vice president of planning and development, would not confirm an opening date, he told Community Impact that new restaurants typically open about five months after securing the necessary permits.
In-N-Out's South Lamar shop marks the second Austin location for the burger chain, and the fourth for the greater metro area. In addition to its outpost on Airport Boulevard and I-35, In-N-Out also has locations in Round Rock and Cedar Park.
