Let's Salsa
Popular Austin taco joint's famous salsa hits grocery store shelves
Award-winning Tacodeli salsa is hitting the shelves of Whole Foods Markets across Austin on Friday, May 5, just in time for Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
The salsa comes in three flavors, ranging from mild to hot: Salsa Verde (tomatillos, garlic, cilantro, and serranos); Salsa Roja (roasted tomatoes, garlic, onion, and serranos); and the signature Salsa Doña (Tacodeli's signature blend of jalapeño and garlic).
"We're really passionate about this project and super excited to bring our salsas to our customers' tables. We're thrilled that our loyal patrons will now be able to enjoy Tacodeli's vibrant flavors all day long, beyond the taco, to accompany their own family recipes," says founder Roberto Espinosa in a release.
This isn't the first locally made dip that Whole Foods Market has brought to the masses. In 2016, Kerbey Lane Cafe's coveted queso was picked up by the grocery giant.
Tacodeli salsa will be available at all Whole Foods Market locations in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The 12-ounce containers, $6.99, are located in the refrigerated section.
Tacodeli opened its first location outside Austin in Dallas two years ago; the homegrown chain debuted in Houston last month.
