No surprise here: Franklin Barbecue deemed one of 10 U.S. restaurants worth the wait in line
If you've ever spent a long morning waiting in line for Franklin Barbecue, a new list from Yahoo Travel will resonate with you. According to the site, the famous East Austin barbecue joint is among 10 restaurants in the country worth the wait in line.
Of the legit Texas choice, Yahoo says the queue starts forming hours before the doors open so folks can get their hands on Aaron Franklin's "precious brisket and other smoked meats." Of course they also had to mention President Obama's recent visit — as well as the fact that he cut the line.
A less obvious Lone Star choice for the list is Oddfellows in Dallas. Says Yahoo: Diners in this "newly trendy area" are willing to wait for two hours at breakfast and dinner to get their mouths on the restaurant's famous buffalo mac. In fact, that buffalo mac is so good that it's worth waiting in the TSA line for a flight to Dallas. Huh.
Other restaurants on Yahoo's list include State Bird Provisions in San Francisco, Shake Shack in New York, Hot Doug's in Chicago and Oklahoma Joe's in Kansas City.
