Hot happy hours
7 high-end Austin restaurants with cheap burgers at happy hour
Sometimes happy hour revelers need more than just good deals on drinks and tiny plates of appetizers. For a more substantial bite, hit one of these tony Austin hot spots instead.
From a classic seafood restaurant hiding one of Austin's best burgers to an east side eatery specializing in all things meat, each have a happy hour with a delectable burger that’s $10 or less.
Carpenter’s Hall
Head to the stylish Carpenter Hotel for this happy hour that runs from 3-5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The melt-in-your-mouth griddleburger comes with crisp fries and tabs out at just $7, which is almost too good to be true. Be sure to wash it all down with a $5 gin martini, $6 select glass of wine, or a $3 Adair kölsch-style beer from Vista Brewing.
Clark’s Oyster Bar
An oyster bar may not seem like the ideal place for a good burger, but Clark’s comes through where it matters. Normally a pricey $19 item, the pan-roasted black Angus burger is half off every Monday to Friday from 3-6 pm. For drink deals, guests can indulge in $5 martinis, oyster shooters, and select drafts.
Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile
Kick back on this East Cesar Chavez eatery’s charming patio and enjoy juicy cheeseburgers with fries for $10. Pair it with a half-priced cocktail, like the peach old fashioned, or grab a draft beer or select wines by the glass for $2 off. Happy hour is available all night on Tuesdays, and 5-7 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
Loro
Abandon all those afternoon obligations and head to Loro’s happy hour, which stretches from 2-5 pm on weekdays. The $8.75 cheeseburger is delightfully sloppy and goes well with either the $4 frozen gin and tonic or $2.75 Kirin Ichiban. Other drink offers include $3.75 select glasses of wine and $4 Ty Ku sake.
Parkside
One of the best happy hour deals on Sixth Street can be found at Parkside from 5-6 pm every day. Half-priced options include beer, cocktails, wine, and bubbles by the glass, which means diners can pair almost anything they want with the salty goodness of their cheeseburger. The burger is also 50 percent off, ringing in at $8 instead of $16.
Peached Tortilla
A $7 burger with peached sauce, cheese, miso caramelized onions, and Japanese pickles is the featured happy hour item at this North Burnet spot that boasts “Southern comfort food with an Asian flair.” Pair it with select $5 beers, $6 wines by the glass, and $6 cocktails, such as the bourbon-focused Kentucky Mule. “Social Hour” is 4-6:30 pm in the bar and patio areas only.
Rosedale Kitchen And Bar
Located in the former home of Guild, this newcomer treats Central Austin to a happy hour social from 4-6 pm on weekdays. The $6 burger features a double chuck and brisket beef patty with American cheese and all the fixings. Tack on house chips for a buck or fries for $4. The beverage menu offers a bevy of discounts available, from $5.50-$7 craft beers to a $6 Grapefruit 76 cocktail.
