Austin's popular pizza joint and craft brewery opens hot new South Lamar location

South Austin's hops scene heats up: After more than a year of anticipation, Pinthouse Pizza's second location on South Lamar Boulevard opened quietly this week.
"Like the Death Star, we are fully operational at the South Lamar location. We are very excited to be a part of such an impressive lineup of offerings in the '04," Co-owner Kyle Detrick confirms with CultureMap.
The new brewpub and pizza joint has taken over an old Chili's building in the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center. In addition to being larger than its Burnet Road counterpart, the Southern locale also has an outdoor patio.
Despite the upgrade in digs, Pinthouse fans can expect the usual tasty pizza as well as the rotating "Off the Map" pie of the month.
The original location of Pinthouse Pizza is widely regarded as one of the top brew destinations in the city. The new spot has a fully functioning brewery like its sister and will showcase new hop-focused beers dubbed the Electric Jellyfish IPA, the Blunderbuss Bock, and the Jib Cutter lager.
Regular hours have yet to be posted, but the new Pinthouse Pizza is open for lunch and dinner service. For more information, follow the restaurant on Facebook.
