Whataburger perks up breakfast with South American-sourced iced coffee
One of Texas’ favorite fast food joints is stepping up its breakfast offerings. Available at all locations beginning Monday, May 20, Whataburger now serves a new iced coffee and a reworked version of its hot coffee.
Introduced in response to consumer requests, the new iced coffee is available black or flavored with a customer’s choice of vanilla, caramel, or mocha. The new coffee uses a blend of Arabica beans sourced from Colombia, Honduras, and Nicaragua, according to a release.
“We sourced beans from the coffee belts of Central and South America, and our menu team spent significant time researching and testing new recipes,” said Whataburger senior vice president and CMO Scott Hudler. ‘The result is a premium, proprietary blend with the quality our guests expect to fuel them 24/7. And with the addition of Vanilla, Mocha, and Caramel flavors, you can customize your coffee to have it ‘just like you like it.’”
As for the hot coffee, Whataburger notes that it’s based on a medium roast and has both a medium body and a smooth finish. Best of all, it’s available 24/7.
Whataburger has a devoted following for its breakfast dishes, which include taquitos (breakfast tacos), pancakes, biscuit sandwiches, and breakfast sandwiches served on a burger bun. All of the restaurant’s breakfast items are available from 11 pm to 11 am, making them a favorite of late night revelers looking for a little sustenance after parties, concerts, and other happenings.
In addition to pairing coffee with its breakfast staples, the restaurant also suggests trying it with desserts and other snacks, including cinnamon rolls, french fries, and chocolate chip cookies.
Prices start at $3.39 for a 16-ounce, medium iced coffee and $1.39 for a 12-ounce, small hot coffee. Diners may order it for dine-in, to-go, drive-thru, or curbside pickup via the restaurant's website.
