Long Center Birthday Bash— September 9
The Long Center for the Performing Arts is celebrating 10 years in Austin with a free birthday party for all ages. Local band Grupo Fantasma will perform two live sets while guests can explore the grounds and enjoy activities including a goat yoga class, an interactive art experience, and access to comfy couches and drink specials in the Tito’s Lounge. Kids can roam the front lawn and enjoy a bounce house, face painting, bubbles, and more. Food trucks curated by Trailer Food Productions and cupcakes provided by H-E-B will satisfy even the most particular palettes.
The Fabulous People Party— September 13
YWCA Greater Austin honors outstanding Austinites and local businesses during its annual awards ceremony at Gather Venues. This is no average fundraiser. The Fabulous People Party features other fab things you can’t miss including a special performance by Austin Music Award winner Jane Ellen Bryant. Leave the stuffy suit and tie at home and dress "Austin cool" for an evening of women supporting women.
Oktoberfest 2018— September 22
In anticipation of cooler temperatures, seasonal brews, and all the fall feels, Drive a Senior — North Central Austin hosts Oktoberfest at Activity Center — Gethsemane. An homage to German culture culminates in food, games, refreshments, and music by a live polka band all ages can enjoy. Tickets grant admission and a chance at winning some sweet raffle prizes all in support of a great cause.
Ballet Austin's Fête ( and Fête*ish)— September 28
This glamorous fundraising affair invites the most fashionable and fabulous guests to JW Marriott for a fairy-tale evening in support of Ballet Austin. Fête is a classic gala featuring a decadent three-course meal and live auction for a night of philanthropic feasting. And stick around for the epic after-party. Described as the “twisted sister” of the formal Fête event, Fête*ish features an imaginative theme inspired by one of Ballet Austin's upcoming production. A live set by DJ Mel, signature cocktails, and a raffle make staying late for Fête*ish well worth the effort.
Camp Contemporary 2018 — October 20
The 14 picturesque acres of Laguna Gloria are reimagined as the grounds of an elevated summer camp for adults during Camp Contemporary 2018. Guests enjoy camp-inspired fare, craft cocktails, outdoor activities, artist-led workshops, live music, and more. Although the full camp schedule is yet to be announced, you can stay posted on all updates on The Contemporary Austin website. Proceeds from the event benefit The Contemporary Austin’s art education programs for children and adults.
Twilight on the Trail— October 28
The finale event commemorating the The Trail Foundation’s 15th anniversary year invites the public to the Four Seasons Hotel for an evening under the stars. Beginning with cocktails and live music from Woode Wood on the outdoor patio, the easygoing gala continues in the ballroom where guests can experience recreations of the Trail’s important milestones and landmarks. Attendees can also help close out the remaining funds needed for upcoming projects on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail with a donation at any time during the evening.
Christmas at the Caswell House— November 1-8, December 2
Holiday magic abounds as the Christmas at the Caswell House hosts its annual Winter Wonderland extravaganza. During the month-long fundraiser, hosted by Austin Junior Forum, the historic Daniel H. Caswell House transforms into the stuff of winter dreams where guests can shop gorgeous ornaments, festive décor, jewelry, and more. In addition to the snowy abode, tickets are available for a range special events including a candlelight dinner, a champagne brunch, and a shopping happy hour. AutFest Texas 2018— November 4
The third annual Autism Film Festival hosted at AFS Cinema includes a canon of both a feature film and short films made by autistic filmmakers or about autism. This special event is curated to open dialogue, foster understanding, and celebrate local talent. All funds raised will directly benefit The Autism Society of Texas.
