One of the best things about living in Austin is the proximity to the great events happening every weekend in the small towns just outside of the city.
This weekend, for example, Georgetown played host to about 100 local, national and international artists during their annual Art in the Square event.
For two days, the historic downtown square morphs into an outdoor art gallery attracting thousands of people. For those inside the city limits, it's similar to the Old Pecan Street Festival which happens twice a year on 6th Street—only without the crowds or parking headaches.
This adorable little town (which hosts other events in the square throughout the year) is perfect for anyone looking to escape the craziness of the city.
