Back-to-school preparation and last-minute summer plans may be on plenty of Austinites' minds, but Southwest Airlines is inviting aspiring travelers to look further into the future with the addition of new nonstop flights to several popular spring break destinations in 2024.

Beginning March 7, 2024, Southwest will resume its daily nonstop flights from Austin to Charlotte, North Carolina. A new seasonal Saturday-only nonstop flight will be offered from Austin to San Juan, Puerto Rico, starting March 9.

The new Austin-San Juan route joins the list of previously announced nonstop flights that will resume March 9, including:

  • Saturday-only flights to Cozumel, Mexico
  • Saturday-only flights to Panama City, Florida
  • Saturday-only flights to Montrose (Telluride/Crested Butte), Colorado
  • Weekend-only flights to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
"To address seasonal travel patterns and demand, the airline brings more nonstop options for Southwest Customers, including those traveling on peak days when new time-saving nonstop service complements a schedule of daily connecting or same-plane service," Southwest said in a release.

Southwest's flight calendar has been extended through April 8, 2024 to accommodate the high demand for spring traveling.

The full list of returning seasonal flights can be found on Southwest's website.
