Bam! Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse kicks it up a notch with unique Austin stop
Emeril Lagasse is kicking it up a notch with a trio of Austin culinary events slated for October 7. The unique visit — which includes a farm tour, book signing, and wine dinner — was announced by the Austin Food & Wine Alliance on Wednesday.
"We're deeply honored and grateful that Chef Lagasse has chosen the Austin Food & Wine Alliance to host his visit to Austin," Executive Director Mariam Parker said in a press release. "As a tireless supporter of youth education, his philanthropic efforts align perfectly with one of the alliance's key initiatives."
That initiative will be highlighted with an exclusive "Emeril & Me" contest in which Austin-area high school students recreate, photograph, and submit their favorite Lagasse recipes with an essay. Twelve winners will be chosen to go to the private "Meet & Greet at Springdale Farm With Lagasse," and will be featured on the chef's website and social media accounts.
For Austin foodies, there will be two delicious events heating up the October 7 evening. In honor of Lagasse's latest cookbook, Essential Emeril, Hotel Ella will throw a tasty cocktail party and book signing. Afterwards, Olamaie will host the celebrity chef during a luxurious wine dinner. Olamaie chefs Michael Fojtasek and Grae Nonas will create a unique five-course menu based off of the recipes in Essential Emeril.
Tickets to the "Wine & Dine Dinner featuring Chef Emeril Lagasse" are already sold out, but you can still purchase a spot for the "Essential Emeril Cocktail Party & Book Signing." Act fast, though, because seating is limited to this sweet event.
Proceeds from the events will benefit the Austin Food & Wine Alliance. For more information on Lagasse's Austin visit, head over to the organization's website.
