Author, lawyer, and native Houstonian Marc Grossberg debuts his first novel, The Best People: A Tale of Trials and Error, as part of the Malvern Books Novel Night series. Readers are invited to meet Grossberg, participate in an audience Q&A, and enjoy excerpts of the legal drama and social satire read by the author. Admission is free.

The 22nd Austin Home & Garden Show
The Austin Home & Garden Show returns for three days of innovative products, special guest appearances, and more. Attendees can see television personality and master carpenter Ty Pennington as he takes to the stage for opening day. Additional highlights include trade day, shopping, and gardening and home demos. Elisabet Ney Museum presents Drawing Salon
Try your hand at a new creative skill courtesy of the Elisabet Ney Museum. Drawing Salon invites artists of all ages and experience levels to sketch sculptures during these professionally led sessions. All art materials are provided and museum educators are available for creative direction. Participation is free and open to the public. Drawing Salons continue on January 18 and January 25.
Blanton Museum of Art presents Ed Ruscha: "Drum Skins" opening day
Ed Ruscha, arguably one of America's greatest living artists, debuts a collection of new work at the Blanton this weekend. Beginning January 11, the unique exhibit features phrases painted by Ruscha on drum heads the artist has collected over the past 40 years. Following opening day, "Drum Skins" will be on display through July 12.

Texas Tipsy Tours presents Twerk Shine and Wine
Yoga, dance, and cocktails combine for a unique experience at the Infinite Monkey Theorem. The event kicks off with a high-energy dance class and continues on the Texas Tipsy Tours Mercedes Sprinter where snacks are provided onboard. Attendees make their first stop at Treaty Oak Distillery to enjoy brews, spirits, and seasonal cocktails. The tour will make its final stop at Hawk’s Shadow Winery & Vineyards for a wine tasting while taking in the Hill Country sunset. Tickets include tour admission, distillery discount offerings, and a souvenir tasting tumbler.
