Bubbling With Excitement
Bubblepalooza provides full-blown summer fun for Austinites of all ages
Kids of all ages converged on the Long Center August 10 to celebrate the second annual Bubblepalooza. Armed with suds and wands, Austinites young and old battled it out to see who could blow the biggest bubbles.
Families lounged on the lawn of the Long Center while listening to kid-friendly tunes from the Jellydots and the Hey Lollies. Aspiring young artists used sidewalk chalk to draw their own creations, and a giant parachute gave kids some shade — and their parents a chance to relive the best part of elementary school gym class.
Food trailers like New Orleans Po-Boy and Gumbo Shop, Wholly Kabob and Wright Bros Dairy rolled in to feed hungry families — proving, once again, that no Austin celebration is complete without a good food truck.
Participants sought refuge inside the auditorium, where Jeff Boyer put on his interactive Bubble Trouble show. Boyer wowed the audience with his bubble towers and smoke canyon, and he even selected one lucky participant to be placed in a giant bubble.
