Jack Ryan Jewelry reels in Austin shoppers with exclusive Bremont watch collection
When Michael Pearson, the North American operations director for Bremont Chronometers, name-checked Franklin Barbecue at Jack Ryan Fine Jewelry + Timepiece’s showing of the luxury watch company’s new collection Thursday night, it was the perfect signal that he knows what Austin is all about.
Whether we’re looking for brisket or baubles, we tend to seek out things that set us a little apart. We want the best, of course, but we also want the rare, the sublime, the handcrafted, the small batch — even, some might say, the exclusive.
“There are a lot of places where you can get high-end watches that are the norm,” Pearson said. “We want to offer something that’s different from the norm.”
It’s the same quality that Robert and Jill Turner were seeking when they chose Austin as their home and established the exclusive Jack Ryan store. That uniqueness characterizes their jewelry and their exquisitely contemporary boutique.
The same distinctiveness was apparent in their stylishly informal and down-to-earth party guests, who noshed on goodies from Suzanne Court Catering and enjoyed craft Chivas cocktails while they viewed the very limited-edition collection (Bremont makes only 6,000 watches a year), for which Jack Ryan is the exclusive representative in Central Texas.
