1,400-acre luxury community breaks ground in sleepy Austin suburb
Manor, Texas, does denote a certain air of opulence, and now the sleepy Austin suburb is getting a development befitting its name. On October 22, Dallas-based developer RightQuest announced it recently broke ground on a 248-unit luxury apartment community, the first phase of a massive, multi-faceted project.
The Flats at ShadowGlen will anchor ShadowGlen, a 1,400-acre development on the northwest corner of Shadowglen Trace and 973 in Manor. Once complete, the units will offer top amenities including private patios and balconies; walk-in closets; and gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances, front-load washers and dryers, wood-style flooring, and granite countertops.
The high-tech units will also be outfitted with Amazon smart home features, which allow residents to do everything from turn off lights and unlock their door remotely to play music and adjust the thermostat.
Outside of the home, residents will have access to amenities like a clubhouse, resort-style swimming pool and cabana, barbecue areas and fire pits, private dog yards and a large dog park, fitness center, yoga space, and on-site storage facilities.
Construction on the Flats is currently underway, and the building should welcome its first occupants in summer 2019.
"I’ve been working in the greater Austin market for more than 30 years and have watched Manor’s population boom over the past decade,” said Pete Dwyer, owner and president of Austin-based Dwyer Realty Companies, in a release. Indeed, what was formerly a small Austin suburb is now one of the top 10 fastest growing suburbs in the nation, according to Realtor.com.
As far as overall cost and potential pricing, developers are staying mum, saying, "We aren’t disclosing the financials, but we can tell you that Mason Joseph Company originated the construction financing for the project and BBG Inc. provided the market feasibility and demand analysis." On the development's landing page, it does call the homes "wonderfully affordable."
“With great schools, new retail, and new employment opportunities, Manor offers a first-rate standard-of-living,” echoed Ryan Harden, president of RightQuest.
Eventually, ShadowGlen will include additional housing, as well as a recreation center, golf course, water park, and 202 acres of trails and parks anchored along Wilberger Creek.
