live on late night
There's been a lot of talk about the state of the Austin comedy scene recently, with the introduction of the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival, the expansion of SXSW Comedy, the rapidly increasing number of comics coming to town and the fact that, most nights of the week, you can catch a sincerely stellar show somewhere in town. But our comics aren't just making the Capital City funnier, as evidenced by Ramin Nazer's appearance on The Late Late Show last night.
Nazer is one of the most recognizable names in Austin comedy, and one of the cornerstones of the local scene; in addition to curating the ever-helpful Last Gas Comedy site, he hosts the acclaimed Friday night Live at Coldtowne! show — he's also placed in the finals of the Funniest Person in Austin contest the past two years, and earned a coveted spot on the New Faces showcase at the 2011 Just for Laughs festival in Montreal.
Check out the clip above and join us in celebrating the latest entry on Austin's growing list of comedic achievements. It's super exciting when a local performer gets some well-deserved recognition, and we eagerly await seeing more familiar faces on late night stages.
You can catch Ramin on April 26 and 27 at the Moontower Comedy Festival, and he's got plenty of shows scheduled before then — check his site for a full calendar.
