The third annual Austin Sketch Fest announces lineup including Paul F. Tompkins,Delicious Moments and Mary Jo Pehl
March brought SXSW and April promises the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival, but the comedy fun doesn’t stop there: Austin Sketch Fest has just announced their lineup, which takes over Coldtowne and the 29th Street Ballroom May 23-27.
The third annual Sketch Fest, which brings acts from across the country to Austin, already announced headliner Paul F. Tompkins, who will be appearing on his Crying & Driving tour. Tompkins, known for his show the Pod F. Tompkast (as well as frequent appearances on Comedy Bang Bang) and his credits on cult hit Mr. Show, will be appearing May 27 and 27 at the 29th Street Ballroom, which, he hopes:
is not a Shining-type situation! The word “ballroom” makes me nervous that I will end up trapped in an old black & white photo!"
Joining him this year, Delicious Moments, who will debut a brand new sitcom-inspired show. (You may have seen the two-man team on shows like Key & Peele, The Office or The Tonight Show.) Also from Los Angeles, Fantasy Sex Picnic, and Chicago’s Astronaut Theatre.
Sketch Fest will also present One Across, the one-woman show from Mystery Science Theater 3000 alum Mary Jo Pehl. Plus, the festival highlights the best sketch in town, including Your Terrific Neighbors, Stag Comedy, Spirit Desire, Hot Property and Ghetto Sketch Warlock.
The Encyclopedia Show (co-hosted by CultureMap’s own Michael Graupmann) will also be presenting a special edition of their expertly-curated, themed variety showcase.
