Austin's popular Front Market returns with 175 women and LGBTQ+ vendors

The Front Market will have a rotating lineup of more than 175 local independent vendors, artists, designers, and craftspeople.
The Front Market, hosted by Future Front Texas, is returning for its spring season to showcase local artists and small businesses from around Texas.
The free, two-day event will take place at Distribution Hall at 1500 E. 4th St. in East Austin on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4. From 11 am to 5 pm each day, visitors will be able to peruse a rotating lineup of pop-up shops from more than 175 local independent vendors, artists, designers, and craftspeople, including:
- Textile artist and multidisciplinary maker Tawa Threads (Austin)
- Vintage embroidery artist Future Vagabond (Austin)
- Independent candle-maker Great Divide Candle Co. (Houston)
- Herbal and self-care specialists Earth Commons (Central Texas)
- Craft beverage connoisseur Kinship Milk Tea (Central Texas)
“It’s that time of year,” said Future Front Executive Director Jane Hervey in a press release. “We’re honored to produce another season of The Front Market, featuring dynamic craftspeople across the state of Texas. There’s truly nothing like spring market season in Austin.”
Future Front Texas, which is celebrating its fourth anniversary this year, highlights women and LGBTQ+ creatives across Texas. The Austin nonprofit has welcomed more than 40,000 guests and 2,000 vendors since the first Front Market in 2016.

The Front Market will also feature a variety of installations, including a pop-up art gallery from Austin artists within Future Front's residency and creative workshops, such as clay-throwing demonstrations from Studios Club House. Guests can sip on craft cocktails from Tito's Handmade Vodka and enjoy homegrown menus and small-batch bites from guest chefs such as Honduran-fusion favorite Five O Four ATX and Austin’s women-owned Garbo’s Lobster.
To keep the party going, The Front Market is hosting DJ sets by beloved Austin talents like Queer Vinyl Collective, DJ Helios, and DJ Wyldflower.
