Austin is one of the worst cities in the U.S. for traffic.
KVUE — Austin is on yet another list. But this time, it's not a positive list.
The traffic in Austin ranks the 18th worst in the country, according to INRIX, a company that crunches traffic numbers around the world and provides products in the auto and transportation industries.
Researchers at INRIX estimate that drivers spent nearly 70 hours stuck in congestion last year. Houston, meanwhile, ranked 11th worst in the country.
Researchers said Austin earned that ranking due to scarce public transportation options. But that's something Austin leaders said they are trying to change.
