Opt for Optimism
Frost Bank serves up optimism at Austin beer garden's brunch bash
Hearts were warmed despite chilly temps when Frost Bank and CultureMap recently showed up at Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden's Big Band Sunday Brunch, bringing a bit of optimism to Rainey Street.
Themed "Call Me Optimistic," the event set up two giant chalkboards where participants and passersby were encouraged to jot down what brings them joy. The CultureMap and Frost street teams were on hand with tablets so people could take the new optimism quiz, which results in a personalized optimism guide, complete with tips on how to maintain a glass-half-full outlook.
Responses on the Call Me Optimistic board ranged from "when I get enough sleep" to "when my boys say I'm the best mom," and most of the event's participants returned to their meals — while the Boss Street Brass Band and Urban Achievers played — with Frost Bank koozies and journals so they could record their happy thoughts going forward. This feel-good visit was the first of 2019's pop-ups that are helping Austinites be more optimistic and spread positivity.
CultureMap and Frost Bank will be hosting more of these pop-up events throughout the year, surprising and delighting folks all over Texas. Want to know where we might show up next? Sign up for our emails and follow along on Facebook and Instagram for hints about our next stop.
