KVUE – The medical industry in Austin is growing. On Tuesday, the Seton Healthcare Family unveiled a $48 million expansion at the Seton Medical Center in Central Austin.
The expansion stretches out over 57,000 square feet. It's part intensive care, part immediate care and part cardiology. It includes 60 new patient rooms with extra space allowing doctors a chance to perform new procedures.
"Technology is increasing. We have more equipment, more things we can bring to take care of our patients. With that comes the increased space. Patients are sicker now than they used to be; it takes more resources to manage them," explained Jordan Weingarten, M.D.
