Festivalgoers who were headed to weekend two of ACL got a surprise pick-me-up when they visited the iconic South Congress location of Jo's Coffee on October 13. The first 50 people in line from 9-10 am received a coupon for a free coffee, courtesy of Frost Bank and CultureMap.
Roughly 75 people started their day off with a huge dose of optimism, receiving fun hats and clever koozies in addition to their free cup of joe. The first 33 people to pop in also received a $15 Frost cash card, with the instruction to #frostitforward and use it to do a good deed for someone else.
Even those who didn't walk away with a cash card were encouraged to brighten someone else's day, and then show us how they did so by tagging @culturemapatx and using the hashtag #frostitforward on Instagram. One lucky do-gooder will win a one-night stay at the Fairmont Austin — breakfast included.
This unexpected java jolt was the latest in a series of pop-ups that are helping Austinites show generosity and spread optimism.
