Opt for Optimism
Camp Contemporary guests craft optimism into reality at beloved bash

Austin arts-lovers were feeling crafty when it was time for Camp Contemporary, The Contemporary Austin's annual fundraiser at Laguna Gloria.
Good thing, too, since Frost Bank and CultureMap showed up with supplies to make the beloved bash even more creative.
Guests visiting the Frost Lounge were able to scribble on the interactive Call Me Optimistic chalkboards and personalize "do-good" postcards, which will be included in kits distributed to homeless shelters during the holidays. One man shared how he already volunteers at the Caritas soup kitchen, and that's how he remains optimistic.
Campers could also receive hand-written haikus, which serve as daily reminders to be positive.
One couple already subscribed to the daily idea, saying that they remain optimistic in their relationship by giving each other one compliment every single day — and not going to bed angry.
Another woman shared that she meditates each morning instead of focusing on the news, and that's what keeps her optimistic.
CultureMap and Frost Bank will be hosting more of these pop-up events throughout the year, surprising and delighting folks all over Texas. Want to know where we might show up next? Sign up for our emails and follow along on Facebook and Instagram for hints about our next stop.
