Opt for Optimism
Frost Bank earns an A+ with caffeine-fueled UT Austin campus visit
With exams looming and the end of the semester (plus the holidays) so close, students at the University of Texas were really in need of a positive boost by the end of November.
Enter Frost Bank, which popped up on the Austin campus with sweet swag and a huge dose of optimism. CultureMap reps stationed in front of Caffe Medici on the main drag passed out tokens for free coffee and Frost cash cards that the students could #frostitforward to someone else needing a pick-me-up.
One student mentioned how her roommate was experiencing financial difficulties and her schoolwork was slipping because of it, so she planned to use the Frost cash cards to buy her a meal.
Another student paused to hear about Frost's #OptForOptimism campaign, figuring a dose of optimism could only be a good thing right before his final. He also snagged a cash card to fund a post-final celebration with his friends.
This cool campus visit, which you can get a look at thanks to the video by WingedSun Productions, was the latest in a series of pop-ups that are helping Austinites show generosity and spread optimism. It's all part of CultureMap's partnership with Frost Bank and in celebration of our comprehensive CultureMap Charity Guide, which is your one-stop destination for area nonprofits and charities.
CultureMap and Frost Bank will be hosting more pop-ups in 2019, surprising and delighting folks across the state. Want to know where we might show up next? Follow along on Instagram and Twitter for hints about our next stop.
