Austin's favorite blues club Antone's is now welcoming visitors at its new satellite location at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. It'll be a stop to get a snack, enjoy a drink, and of course listen to live music.
Travelers will be able to experience a piece of old Austin without having to go downtown to visit Antone's at its iconic 5th Street location. The new venue resides in the former Haymaker concession space next to gate 24 at the Barbara Jordan Terminal.
The new Antone's, which will be operated by hospitality giant Delaware North Company, evokes Austin's longstanding legacy as the "Live Music Capital of the World" with its nostalgic memorabilia wall, vintage posters, and a historical photo collection. The space also features the iconic Antone's neon sign handmade by local signmaker Evan Voyles.
The venue will offer an assortment of draft beers, fresh food, and a grab-and-go food station for busy travelers on the go. Although it might be a bit hard to plan travel around who's playing, the airport does maintain a list of performers and set times at its several stages. Travelers in the first half of February will hear Bob Floyd, Ella Reid, Mike Stewart, Amy Hooper, and Bryan Sunderman at Antone's, all from 11:15 am to 1:15 pm on their respective dates.
Antone's co-owner Will Bridges says the opening of the new venue has fulfilled a long-held dream.
"It is truly an honor for our Antone's airport location to serve as a beacon of Austin’s live music scene, welcoming and entertaining visitors and locals alike as they travel to and from our amazing city," Bridges says.
The satellite location's opening marks one of many milestones for Antone's, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Expect more special events and initiatives across 2025, such as the release of a special box set, a new blues museum upstairs at the 5th Street venue, a big summer celebration in July, and much more.
Antone's is one of three new vendors now open in the Barbara Jordan Terminal at the airport. Miami-based eatery Half Moon Empanadas — located in between the east and west ticket counters and across TSA Checkpoint 2 West — celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 29. HKG Duty Free is also taking over as the operator of the Austin airport's duty-free store, with an official opening date still to be determined.
