Flood Cleanup
Travis County starts flood debris pick-ups at residential addresses

The county is asking residents to sort their debris before putting it out.
Beginning July 14, Travis County crews will begin the process of picking up debris caused by devastating flooding that occurred over the Fourth of July weekend.
The county will start the efforts on all county-maintained roads in northwest Travis County, which includes:
- Long Hollow Loop
- Summit View Drive
- Layne Loop
- Long Hollow Trail
- Sheep Hollow Trail
- Juniper Trail
- Yaupon Trail
- Juniper Court
- Windy Valley Drive
- Round Mountain Road
- Big Sandy Drive
- Sandy Meadow Circle
- Pecan Hollow
- Sunset Hollow
- A portion of Nameless Road
The county is asking residents on these roads who have debris to put it on the curb as soon as possible. There will be multiple rounds of pickup through the area over the following several days, as crews work to collect the enormous amount of debris.
The county also said that debris must be separated into categories, which include:
- Appliances: Items like refrigerators, washers, dryers, air conditioners, stoves, water heaters, and dishwashers.
- Construction and demolition materials: Items like drywall, lumber, carpet, furniture, and plumbing.
- Brush and vegetation: Items like tree trunks and limbs, and they must be less than 10 feet long.
- Hazardous waste: Material like oil, batteries, paint, and cleaning supplies.
- Electronics: Items like televisions, computers, phones, and gaming consoles.
Household trash won't be picked up, nor will items that are not separated into the categories mentioned above. Household trash can be taken to a dumpster located on the north side of the Sandy Creek Bridge, which is open to foot traffic.
Contractors have begun working on a temporary fix for the bridge, a two-way low water crossing, that is being built parallel to the bridge. As of Sunday afternoon, county leaders say it is 90 percent complete.
The FM1431 Citizens Collection Center is also open 8 am to 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, for people able to take trash to a drop off site.
According to the county, debris should be placed along the road at the edge of your property, without blocking the road or access to property. If there's a sidewalk in the area, it can be placed in the area between the sidewalk and the curb. The county says to make sure there's a 3 foot perimeter around the debris.
