Blues on the Green is Back
Blues on the Green returns to Zilker Park with free summer concerts
Austin’s quintessential free summer concert series Blues on the Green returns for its 28th season this Wednesday, May 23. Throughout the summer, homegrown artists will rock out alongside thousands of Austinites at Zilker Park.
Presented by 93.3 KGSR, Blues on the Green kicks off May 23 with psychedelic rock group the Black Angels and dream-pop band Night Glitter, featuring LouLou Ghelichkani. It's the first of four concerts scheduled to take place throughout the summer. Other performances are slated for June 13, July 18, and August 8 — headliners will be revealed later, according to a release.
While the official Blues on the Green music starts at 8 pm, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to find the best seats in the park. For a perfect summer evening of outdoor jams, blankets, lawn chairs, and dogs are allowed, and a variety of vendors, including Amy’s Ice Creams, Shake Shack, and Black's Barbecue will be dishing out food and drinks onsite.
For those who arrive early, Lyft is packing in more music with a special pre-show performance before each main concert. The Lyft stage will feature acoustic sets from Austin performers like Dawn & Hawkes, Rob Baird, and Quiet Company, starting at 6 pm.
The rideshare app will also offer new users $5 off their first three Lyft rides with the code 2018BOTG. Those who prefer to drive to Zilker Park can secure a $15 parking pass in advance via TicketBud.
