Austin's best haunted house unveils new space that's twice as terrifying
Austin's favorite haunted house returns this week bigger and scarier than ever before. House of Torment unveils its new Northeast Austin home September 23.
It's been an iconic Halloween attraction since founders, and native Austinites, Jon Austin Love and Daniel McCullough first opened the doors in 2003. And for its 14th season, House of Torment grows into a 40,000-square-foot space, twice the size of the old Highland Mall location.
Located at 2632 Ridgepoint Dr., at the intersection of U.S. Routes 183 and 290, House of Torment features three distinct themes for brave guests to explore. There's a zombie apocalypse (Dawn of Evil), a killer-filled terror land (The Frenzy), and a classic haunted mansion (Graveside Manor).
In addition to the Halloween season, House of Torment's new venue will feature a variety of escape rooms, open year-round.
The 2016 season runs through November 5. Tickets range from $19.99-$32.99; skip-the-line passes are available online. House of Torment will host "blackout" events on November 11-12, which require guests to complete the tour in the dark — if they dare.
