The 2018 Texas Tribune Festival
The 2018 Texas Tribune Festival returns for another year spotlighting state and national politics at venues across the city. The three-day event will feature discussions on issues such as immigration, the environment, public and higher education, and the impact of President Trump’s first two years in office. Prominent guests in attendance include Beto O’Rourke, Nancy Pelosi, Larry Wilmore, John Kerry, Julian Castro, and more.

Wine Riot
Wine aficionados and newbies alike are invited to expand their palates and their minds through an educational-but-boozy affair at Fair Market. The three-day instructional event features an interactive tasting, contrast tasting, and 20-minute "Crash Courses" on burning vino topics. To see a full schedule and purchase tickets, visit the Wine Riot website.
House of Torment
The frighteningly fun House of Torment opens for another season, just in time to greet Austin's first Halloween revelers. Guests can visit three haunted attractions — Blackthorne Penitentiary, Darkest Dreams, and Trick or Treat — for varying levels of fright and fun. Attendees 21 and over can enjoy adult beverages at Torment Tavern in between scare sessions.
Ballet Austin presents Fête and fête*ish
Fantasy and fundraising combine at the JW Marriott Austin for one of the most fabulous parties of the year. Fête is a traditional gala featuring a three-course meal and live auction. After dinner, however, the venue transforms into Fête’s “twisted sister,” Fête*ish, featuring a live DJ set, signature cocktails, and an imaginative theme inspired by an upcoming Ballet Austin production. Guests are encouraged to dress their best.
Saturday, September 29
Moontower Comedy presents Paul Reiser
Mad About You star (and one of Comedy Central's "Top 100 Comedians of All Time"), Paul Reiser hits the Stateside at the Paramount for an evening of laughs. The Emmy-nominated star may appear in the midst of a major comeback, thanks in part to his upcoming appearance on the smash-hit Stranger Things, but the stand-up comedian has never stopped performing live. Tickets still available.
