The Pop Almanac Podcast #4: TV News/Keanu
Oct 12, 2011 | 5:50 pm
This week on the Pop Almanac, Brendan begins the show by atoning for the Episode 2 mistake of being unable to name more than one "bad Keanu Reeves movie" with a very thorough top five (and a brief detour to check in on MTV's DJ Skribble).
Then he and Duncan discuss a few recent brouhahas in the television world: first up is the announcement that Arrested Development will be returning (almost, definitely, probably) with a mini-series and movie; CultureMap Assistant Editor Samantha Pitchel assures everyone that she is willing to play Michael Cera's love interest should the need arise.
Next, the troubling contract negotiations surrounding Brendan's beloved Simpsons come up, and then finally the recent cancellation of NBC's Free Agents and what that means for the rumored movie continuation of Pop Almanac favorite Party Down. In a never-ending sea of possible film adaptations of cult shows, can your hosts maintain their buoyant optimism?
